I was born and grew up at Yardworthy Farm near Chagford with
my parents and two brothers Wilfred and Kenneth Hutchings. I
was always involved with the Farm and helped from an early
age. Horses have always been my passion, and I started
breaking and schooling them in my early teens.
I
passed my BHSAI and Pony Club A Test. I was a point-to-point
jockey for ten years, and had the privilege of riding around
Cheltenham racecourse. Rode and trained some great horses
and met some amazing characters and lovely people. I then
took horses in to break and school and teach riding, this I
continued to do after Nick and I were married.
In my spare time I like gardening and sewing and enjoy being
involved in the local community. The building business is
now flourishing due to Nick’s hard work and dedication. This
brings with it oceans of paperwork, I gradually took on the
role of secretary gaining experience from a bookkeeper that
we employed for a short time.
