WHAT IS NUDURA ICF ?
NUDURA Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) is formwork for constructing concrete walls as a superior alternative to traditional UK masonry or timber frame construction. NUDURA ICF has been used in North America & Canada for over 25 years and in Europe & the UK for over 10 years.
The insulated concrete formwork comprise two sides of expanded polystyrene (eps) which are connected together with a unique patented folding web, made from recycled polypropylene.
Each NUDURA form interlocks with the next and is fully reversible.
The NUDURA forms are simply stacked like giant bricks to form the required walls, steel reinforcement added as necessary and then filled with concrete. The ICF is left in place to provide permanent wall insulation with a standard U-value of 0.24W/m2.K
If greater insulation is required, NUDURA U-Value Plus eps inserts can be installed to achieve a wall U-value down to 0.11W/m2.K
The webs are embedded in the eps panels with integral flanges which also provide sturdy fixing strips at 200mm c/c for applied finishes, inside and out, so the building can be finished with traditional methods.
NUDURA ICF has been used in all types of building from basement level to multi-storey. Examples include homes, hotels, offices, medical centres, educational and government buildings.
